New photoblog entry: Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island, Utah, proud homeland of the Masturbating Bison. Great weather, great views, live animals and fantastic, warm salt-water lake. It could be a marvellous experience, if it were not for the filthy little freaking gnats, also known as no-see-ums. As soon as you left your car, these wicked creatures would eat you alive. No repellents would save you. There are thousands of well-documented stories of gnats tearing apart mosquito nets and eating drunken tourists asleep. Modern science is powerless in the face of this plague.
Nevertheless, I’ve had a great swim in the Lake and watched an enchanting sunset over the Great Salt Lake.
